Performance Routines

boxerWe have all heard about athletes who have a particular game day routine (e.g., what they eat, when they eat, or how they warm-up), or go through a sequence of actions before they carry out a particular skill (e.g., a baseball player may tighten his gloves, take a certain number of practice swings, or grind his feet into the ground before each pitch). These actions are considered performance routines and have been labelled either pre-event routines or pre-performance routines.
